Hey there, adventure-seekers and aerial enthusiasts! đ
Hey there, adventure-seekers and aerial enthusiasts! đ
Â
Are you ready to capture the most epic moments with your X1 PRO or PROMAX? Whether youâre soaring through the skies or cruising over breathtaking landscapes, having the right SD card is key to making sure you donât miss a beat. Letâs dive into everything you need to know to keep your flying camera's memory game strong!
Â
đ Where Does My Awesome Footage Go?
No SD Card? No Problem!
- If you havenât popped in an SD card yet, donât worry! Your PRO/PROMAX will automatically store all those amazing shots in its internal storage. Itâs like having a built-in memory vault!
SD Card Magic
- Once you insert an SD card, your PRO/PROMAX will kindly remind you that itâs switching over to the SD card for storage. Even if you take it out and put it back in, the device will still remember to use the SD card. Itâs got your back!
Â
đ What If I Canât See My SD Card?
The Mystery of the Missing SD Card
- Sometimes, when you connect your PRO/PROMAX to a USB cable or restart it through ADB, the storage management page might play hide-and-seek and not show your SD cardâs capacity. If that happens, your device will store the footage in its internal storage instead.
Common Issues and Fixes
-
Recording Issues: If you notice dropped frames, stuttering, or shorter-than-expected recording times, it might be due to an incompatible SD card. Your PRO/PROMAX will check the following criteria:
- Speed Standard: If the speed standard is less than V30, the device will report a low rate and restrict its use.
- Capacity: If the card is less than 64GB or more than 1TB, the device will report an incorrect capacity and restrict its use.
- Format: If the card is not formatted in exFAT, the device will report a format error and restrict its use.
- Low-Speed Alert: If the actual writing speed is low during recording, the device will report a low write speed but will not restrict its use.
The Perfect Match
- To make sure your SD card and PRO/PROMAX become best friends, go for the exFAT format. Aim for a capacity greater than 64GB (up to a whopping 1TB!), and pick a V30 or V60 model. If the format isnât right, your device's camera screen will let you know with a friendly reminder (check out the attachment for what it looks like).
Â
đ What Happens When Iâm Out of Space?
Auto-Switch to SD Card
- When your PRO/RPOMAX's internal storage is full, itâll smoothly switch over to the SD card to keep recording. Your adventure wonât stop just because the internal storage is maxed out!
The âMemory Fullâ Alert
- But what if both the internal storage and SD card are full? No worries! Your device will let you know with a clear âMemory Fullâ message. Time to transfer those memories and make some space!
Â
đ Moving and Copying Files
Hands-Off Policy
- Just a heads-up: your PRO/PROMAX's SD card and internal memory donât support moving, copying, or pasting files. So, once youâve captured your footage, itâs best to transfer it to your computer or another device to keep it safe and sound.
Â
đ Which SD Card Sizes Work Best?
The Supported Sizes
- Your X1 PRO and PROMAX are super flexible! They support SD cards in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 1TB sizes. Thatâs a lot of storage for all your epic adventures!
- If you try to use an SD card thatâs less than 64GB or more than 1TB, your device will kindly remind you that the capacity isnât supported (check out the attachment for the message).
SD Card Indicators
-
To help you confirm if your card meets the requirements, look for these indicators:
- Capacity: Ensure itâs between 64GB and 1TB.
- Speed Standard: Look for the V30 or V60 icon.
- Format: Make sure itâs exFAT.
Example: Sandisk Cards
- Sandisk Ultra: This is a lower-end product and doesnât have the V30 icon. Although the read speed might be high, the write speed is only 10MB/s, which doesnât meet the requirements.
- Sandisk Extreme: This is a V30 card that meets the requirements.
- Sandisk Extreme Pro: This is a top-tier card that also meets the requirements.
- Note: Some older or damaged V30 cards might meet the speed standard but have lower actual write speeds. If you receive a âlow write speedâ error, check for damage and consider replacing the card.
Recording Requirements
- The maximum bitrate for the X1 PRO|PROMAX is 160Mbps (including 8K video). While theoretically, a card with a write speed of 20MB/s should suffice, additional processing time and fluctuations mean that V30 cards often fall short. We recommend using V60 or higher for 8K30fps and 4K120fps recordings.
Â
đ„ What About Different Shooting Modes?
8K and 4K 120FPS
- For ultra-high-definition, 8K or 4K 120FPS, we recommend V60. Itâs the powerhouse for those detailed, fast-action shots!
4K 120FPS on a Budget
- For 4K 120FPS, we also recommend V60. It ensures smooth, high-quality videos without compromising on performance.
Â
đ« Which Models Donât Support SD Cards?
-
Just a quick note: the X1 smart, X1, and AQUA models donât support SD cards. But donât worry, your X1 PRO and PROMAX are ready to handle all your storage needs!Â
đ Ready to Capture Your Adventures?
Now that youâre armed with all the SD card know-how, go ahead and get ready to capture those unforgettable moments. Whether youâre filming a breathtaking sunset or a high-speed chase, your X1 PRO and PROMAX will be your trusty companions. Happy flying and filming! đŹ

đ ïž Maintenance Tips
- Monthly Formatting: After backing up your footage, format your SD card once a month to reduce fragmentation.
- Avoid Frequent Insertions/Removals: Minimize wear and tear on the metal contacts to prevent oxidation, which can slow down your card.
